I built this page because I wanted to be able to share my code and hardware designs with other geeks easily. If you are not a geek/programmer/computer hobbyist/nerd/electronics hobbyist/miniature builder, you will find that this site is very boring. Otherwise, it may be interesting to you.

Recent Updates (newest first):

  • 04-01-2005: Happy April Fool's Day! If you're using IE, you already know what the prank is. Real browsers like FireFox won't let it work though.
  • 09-24-2004: Updated the Dual ATX PSUs page, the URL for one of the parts I recommended had expired. Also updated the picture/diagram on the same page.
  • 09-15-2004: Another large update, the domains I purchased (www.comphobbyist.com, www.comphobbyist.net, and www.comphobbyist.org) are all operational and point right here - no more .8k.com! I also uploaded another two code downloads, a mostly completed 8080 cross-assembler written completely in VB2.0 and a Win32 DLL for reading the TSC (Time Stamp Counter) written completely in Win32asm, and cleaned up a mess that was gradually collecting in the /downloads/ folder.
  • 1-06-2004: Added a page on the Commodore 64. Look in the navigation bar under "PC 4". Also modified my page template to make moving to a new server easier if I ever have to (removed absolute addresses, saved the images needed.)
  • 12-30-2003: Did a HUGE update - I got rid of the framesets, changed the text color on the copyright notice at the bottom of every page so it's more visible, and changed random stuff (added three pages about my PCs (see navigation bar), plus a how-to page on dual PSUs.) There is also a new VB6.0 code download. If you find any broken links E-MAIL ME!!!
  • 05-28-2003: Changed the Guestbook & Guestbook Signing pages so you can see the navigation bar. Hopefully, I'll have pics of all my computers uploaded soon.
  • 05-16-2003: Got the navigation bar working, added the counter, and added the Guestbook. Also worked out a lot of bugs.
  • 05-06-2003: I actually started building this site today.
The first page is a listing of my various computers. You can see it here.

    The Purpose Of This Site:

The purpose of this site is to make my designs and code available to anyone who wants it, without charge. If I wanted you to lose a bunch of money, I'd send you right over to the PCI-SIG so you could feed their bank account $100 for every spec sheet you download. The hardware designs are all either in common image formats, ASCII art, or they are in .CKT files, which can be opened with CircuitMaker Student Version. The circuits are located here.(not a live link yet.) The code is in ANSI plain text files and/or ZIP archives, and is available here.
